Editorial standards.

TrackStudio publishes comparisons, guides, and market research about Mac trackpad apps. We make TrackStudio, so the commercial pages disclose that above the fold. These are the rules we use to keep the rest honest.

Disclosure

We make TrackStudio. Every commercial page says so. We do not pretend to be an independent review site, and we do not hide the affiliation in a footer.

How we research

How we test

We install and use the apps we can. When a page is based on vendor documentation rather than hands-on testing, the page says so. We do not claim a test we did not run, and we do not present a vendor’s marketing copy as a measured result.

When we do test, we describe the method: the Mac, the macOS version, the trackpad, the settings, and what we observed. A screenshot is evidence only if it is from the product and the date is clear.

How we rank

We rank by the job, not by who pays. A roundup may put TrackStudio third, fourth, or lower. If another app is the better buy for a specific job, the page says so. That is the point of a comparison.

We do not accept payment for inclusion, and we do not sell rankings. If we ever use an affiliate link, it will be disclosed and it will not change the ranking.

How we update

Comparison pages and the market report are reviewed quarterly, or sooner when a vendor ships a major release, changes a price, or disappears. The visible “last updated” date and the structured data are updated together.

We keep a change log for the pages we edit. A page that was changed recently is not judged again until it has had time to settle.

Corrections

If a price, feature, or requirement is wrong, email hello@trackstudio.xyz with the page and the source. We will check it, correct it, and update the date. If the correction changes the recommendation, we will say so.

We do not edit a competitor’s page or ask for a better position. We ask for the facts to be right.

AI use

We use AI tools for research, drafting, and checking. A human reviews every page before it is published. We do not use AI to invent an author, a testimonial, a test result, or a number. The byline is the team that actually publishes the page.
