The default trackpad scene.
Every app you have not mapped still gets a layout. The default scene is the one that keeps the trackpad predictable.
The Default scene is the fallback. When the frontmost app has no matching scene, TrackStudio uses this layout: edges for brightness, volume, and media, corners for system actions, and a few two- and three-finger gestures.
Most people should tune the Default scene first. It is the layout you feel in every app you have not thought about, which is most of them.
What the scene does
| Trigger | Action | Source |

| Bottom-right corner | App Switcher | Default |
| Two-finger tap | Play / Pause | Default |
| Two-finger swipe left | Previous track | Default |
| Two-finger swipe right | Next track | Default |
| Three-finger tap | Mute | Default |
| Three-finger swipe up | Mission Control | Default |
| Four-finger tap | Open TrackStudio | Default |
Built-in scene mapping. “Scene” means the app overrides the default; “Default” means the fallback action is used. Check the scene in the app before you edit it.
How to apply it
- Open TrackStudio and select the Default scene.
- Start with the edges: brightness on the left, volume on the right, media scrub on the bottom. Those three work in almost every app.
- Change a corner only if you use it more than the default. The four corners are the easiest actions to remember.
Where it stops
- No per-app actions. The Default scene cannot know which app is in front; that is what app scenes are for.
- No browser tabs or document navigation. Those belong in app-specific scenes.
- No automatic switching. The Default scene is the fallback; it does not override a matching app scene.

What is the Default scene?
It is the layout TrackStudio uses when the frontmost app has no matching scene. It covers the edges, the four corners, and the basic multi-finger gestures.
Can I change the Default scene?
Yes. Select it in the Scenes view and change any trigger in Canvas. The built-in mapping is a starting point.
Do I need a scene for every app?
No. The Default scene covers every app without a match. Add an app scene only when that app needs different actions.
What happens when an app has no scene?
TrackStudio falls back to Default. The trackpad keeps working; it just uses the fallback layout instead of an app-specific one.
