Essential is the one to start with. It keeps the trackpad useful without turning it into a second keyboard: two-finger media, four corner actions, and the edges for brightness and volume. It is the recipe most people should apply first.
These are the regions and gestures the recipe sets. Apply it to a scene, then change anything in Canvas.
| Region or gesture | Action |
|---|---|
| Left edge | Brightness |
| Right edge | Volume |
| Bottom edge | Media scrub |
| Top-left corner | Mission Control |
| Top-right corner | Mute |
| Bottom-left corner | Show Desktop |
| Bottom-right corner | App Switcher |
| Two-finger tap | Play / Pause |
| Two-finger swipe left | Previous track |
| Two-finger swipe right | Next track |
| Three-finger tap | Mute |
| Three-finger swipe up | Mission Control |
| Four-finger tap | Open TrackStudio |
Launch the app and open the scene you want to change.
Choose the book icon in the sidebar, then select Essential.
Apply it to the scene. Change any trigger in Canvas; the recipe is a starting point.
Use Essential if you want the trackpad to do the obvious things without a setup project: play and pause, skip a track, mute, Mission Control, Show Desktop, and the App Switcher.
If you live in a browser, change the three-finger tap from Mute to New Tab. If you present, switch to the Presenter recipe instead of editing this one.
Yes. Every TrackStudio recipe is included in the app; there is no recipe pack to buy.
A recipe applies to the scene you choose. Use a different scene for each app if you want Figma, Safari, and VS Code to behave differently.
Yes. Apply the recipe, then change any trigger in Canvas. The recipe is a starting point, not a locked preset.
Every recipe is included. Use the full app for 3 days; activate only if you keep it.
