Logic Pro trackpad gestures.
Logic's transport is a keyboard habit. A scene puts play, undo, and redo on the trackpad without touching the timeline.
Logic Pro is a deep app, and most of its trackpad surface is already spoken for: scroll, zoom, and selection. The useful additions are the transport actions you reach for constantly but cannot reach without leaving the timeline.
The Logic scene keeps those four actions on two-finger gestures and leaves the rest of the pad alone. It does not try to become a mixing console.
What the scene does
| Trigger | Action | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Top-left corner | Mission Control | Default |
| Top-right corner | Mute | Default |
| Bottom-left corner | Show Desktop | Default |
| Bottom-right corner | App Switcher | Default |
| Two-finger tap | Play / Pause | Scene |
| Two-finger swipe left | Undo | Scene |
| Two-finger swipe right | Redo | Scene |
| Three-finger tap | Mute | Scene |
| Three-finger swipe up | Mission Control | Default |
| Four-finger tap | Open TrackStudio | Default |
Built-in scene mapping. “Scene” means the app overrides the default; “Default” means the fallback action is used. Check the scene in the app before you edit it.
How to apply it
- Open TrackStudio and select the Logic Pro scene.
- Check the two-finger transport: tap to play or pause, swipe left to undo, swipe right to redo.
- Keep the edges for brightness and volume. Change a corner only if you need it; the default corners are system actions.
Where it stops
- No plugin control. The scene does not reach into a plug-in window.
- No automation writing. It sends undo/redo and transport, not parameter changes.
- No per-track actions. Track selection stays with Logic.

Does Logic Pro support trackpad gestures?
Logic has its own scroll, zoom, and selection behaviour. TrackStudio adds transport and undo/redo on two-finger gestures, scoped to the Logic scene.
Can I scrub the playhead from the trackpad?
The bottom edge can scrub media when the app exposes now-playing information. Logic's timeline playhead is a different control; do not expect the media scrub to move it.
Will undo affect plugin edits?
The scene sends the app's Undo action. Whatever Logic would undo from the menu is what the gesture triggers.
Does it work with GarageBand?
No. GarageBand is a separate app with a different bundle identifier. Add it as its own scene if you use it.
